1 Vaccination data from the California Immunization Registry (CAIR) are presented for LA County residents 12+ years of age and older who have been vaccinated with at least one dose and for whom both age and race/ethnicity data are available. Residents of the cities of Pasadena and Long Beach are not included. Population data for vaccination percentages are from July 1, 2019 Population Estimates, prepared by Hedderson Demographic Services for Los Angeles County Internal Services Department, released 03/12/2020. Due to delayed reporting, previous data may change in future updates. For more frequently updated vaccination data, see the vaccine dashboard.

1 These data are dynamic and may not reflect real-time investigation counts for these settings. Data will change based on daily information gathered by public health investigators overseeing, supervising, and closing each investigation. The following may be reported or identified retroactively: outbreaks' and outbreak-associated cases' symptom onset dates, and COVID-19 specimen collection dates. Outbreaks are included in the count if the outbreak was considered active at any time during a respective two-week period, based on the outbreak-level onset date, or earliest episode date if onset date is missing (the earliest existing value of: Date of Onset, Date of Diagnosis, Date of Death, Date Received, or Specimen Collection Date) among individually linked persons, until 14 days past the last exposure date of the most recent case (28 days for homeless service settings). An outbreak can be active for multiple two-week periods due to ongoing transmission. Please note that the data presented here are biweekly numbers of outbreaks by setting, not numbers of cases. For a listing of active outbreaks, including case counts and deaths, please see our active outbreak reporting page here.
2 Skilled nursing facilities include facilities licensed by California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development to provide skilled nursing services to facility residents and nursing facilities that are distinct parts of acute care hospitals.
3 Worksite settings include workplaces, food and retail stores; more specific settings such as law enforcement are excluded.
4 Homeless service settings include interim housing, shelters, encampments, and single room units, and service providers supporting People Experiencing Homelessness (PEH).
5 Educational settings include Early Care and Education, TK-12, Institutes of Higher Education, and programs serving youth including day cares for school-aged children, day camps, programs at parks and recreation sites, and youth sports programs.

2 Staff/Other cases include all staff, visitors, and individuals with an unknown classification
3 Case counts are reported by earliest symptom onset date or positive COVID-19 test specimen collection date. If both dates are missing, the earliest of the isolation or the date reported is used. Due to delayed reporting and data updates, case counts may change in future reports. Case counts include individuals who reside outside of Los Angeles County but attend, are employed by, or were visiting a school/program in Los Angeles County.
4 Cases that self-reported an exposure to a confirmed case outside of the school setting are not included in the case numbers. For TK-12 and programs serving school-aged students, only individuals who are affiliated with a school and have returned to school or were on campus are included in the case numbers.

1 Data source is a weekly self-report electronic survey of SNFs in California. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) adjusted the survey reporting period in early June 2021. Data are reported for two week intervals in alignment with survey data reporting periods.
2 CDPH weekly SNF Survey includes data from a maximum of 342 Los Angeles County SNFs, excluding the independent jurisdictions of Long Beach and Pasadena. For facilities that missed submitting their weekly CDPH survey, a local Los Angeles Department of Public Health survey is sent to supplement the CDPH data, therefore these data reported here may differ from the CDPH dashboard.

1 Only cities/communities with a population greater than 0 in both the 2018 and 2019 PEPS population estimates are included in this table.
2 Adjusted Rates are Per 100,000 population (2018 Population Estimates). Adjusted Rate is age-adjusted by year 2000 US Standard Population. Adjusted rates account for differences in the distribution of age in the underlying population. Adjusted rates are useful for comparing rates across geographies (i.e. comparing the rate between cities that have different age distributions). Due to delayed reporting, previous rates may change in future updates.
3^ = unstable. Rate is considered unstable if the relative standard error 23 percent or more of the rate estimate or if the frequency was less than 10.
4 Vaccination data from the California Immunization Registry (CAIR) are presented for LA County residents 12+ years of age and older with valid addresses, who have been vaccinated with at least one dose. In addition, individuals whose addresses are not valid and who could not be mapped to a city or community are not included in the data download. Cities/communities with an indication of ‘Unreliable Data’ include those with fewer than 5 people who have been vaccinated or over 100% of the population have been vaccinated. One community had a population denominator that also included residents of living facilities located in this community. Data source for population estimates: July 1, 2019 Population Estimates, prepared by Hedderson Demographic Services for Los Angeles County Internal Services Department, released 05/26/2020. Population estimates for cities/communities of population size less than 500 may be unreliable. Due to delayed reporting, previous data may change in future updates. For more frequently updated vaccination data, see the vaccine dashboard.
